Trippin’ to Grenada

Posted by on June 24, 2011

It was a chilly night in New York’s JFK International Airport. In a little corner behind the Hudson News, a boy and a girl curled up and tried to catch some sleep.
Surrounded by our cary on luggage, David and I tried our best to sleep off our journey from Los Angeles and prepare for our jump to Grenada.
Thankfully the trip was nothing more than long periods of sitting punctuated by nothing more exciting than dinner, breakfast and Barbados.
After 5 flights, our final 30-minute flight into Grenada was on the nicest plane we had seen in two days. While the American Airlines flight was kind enough to show a static-riddled movie on the overhead TV screens, the British Airways 777 had all the amenities we longed for on the long flights over.

Once we got to Grenada we were hit by the heat like a burst from an oven. It felt great! … for a while. Then, amid the tropical plants and reggae music on passing cars, I started missing family and friends. Also, I never dreamed that it could be so hot that wearing clothes could be so inconvenient.

Here comes a new adventure! Please pray that we do not cook ourselves and survive the next year.

We love and miss you all back home!
