The medical school life and I are having a little tiff at the moment. OK, I’ll be honest. It’s on the receiving end of red-headed hormonal fury.
It’s easy to let the stressful stuff take over sometimes. But if it does, I think I’ll end up forgetting about all the amazing things. With all the stress of repaying loans, applying for residencies and raising a child looming ever nearer, these are the moments that I want to remember. No matter how hot this little pressure cooker called life gets, this is the good stuff.
- I want to remember David’s face when, one lazy evening, he finally heard our baby’s heartbeat through his own stethoscope pressed to my tummy.
- I want to remember cooling off by the pool because we didn’t want to run our expensive AC and the excuse it gave us to talk like BFFs for hours.
- My mom reassuring me, “The munchkin knew where he was coming and what he was in for and he wanted to come anyway.” 🙂
- Kneeling in prayer and knowing that a loving Heavenly Father always has and always will watch out for me.
- Playing with baby for the first time as I repeatedly pressed my ice water to my tummy and he kicked it off.
- Curling up in a corner of Barnes and Noble and reading silly kids books … to our little fetus.
Now go hug your SGU doctor and/or make his spouse a thank you card. Maybe it will be a moment that means so much, they write about it on their blog …
