Our Story

One day while on a church camping trip in the Yosemite woods, a girl offered to help a boy set up his tent. So began the story of Sarah and Dave.

A few weeks later, that boy called the girl and she naively talked his ear off for about an hour before he could get out that he wanted to take her on a date. Oops! That weekend they went to a beautiful dinner and then to a movie in the park.

Six months and a lot of laughter later, David took Sarah to San Francisco for a beautiful day out.

They made sandwiches at a park, walked all over Pier 39 and Fisherman’s Wharf and even across the Golden Gate Bridge! That night after a very nice dinner, Sarah thought they were on their way home. One fake-out exit later and David had taken Sarah to the Oakland Temple. There on the roof, overlooking the city, he asked her to marry him.

On May 7, 2010 David and Sarah were married for time and all eternity in the Oakland California Temple. Our prefect day came with a flurry of family, friends, dresses and flowers.

Everything about that day was everything we wanted. For a few more juicy details about our courtship and early days, check out goingglenn.blogspot.com.

Then, after just one month of blissful marriage, David was accepted to St. George’s University Medical School. Sarah packed up her reporter’s notepad and left her  hometown job at The Daily Sparks Tribune for a new adventure in Newcastle Upon Tyne, Great Britain.

Our year in jolly old England was filled with many adventures, misadventures and a whole lotta laughter in between. We made some great memories there. You can read all about it on our Newcastle blog by clicking here.

In 2011, we started another new adventure in Grenada, West Indies where David dove into chemical constructions, bodily processes and anatomy memorization. I took a dive into the Caribbean Sea and ran the Significant Others Organization there.

Then we headed off to Redlands, CA for years three and four of medical school, where David did clinical rotations at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. That beautiful home is where they welcomed their first child and the neighborhood still holds a piece of Sarah’s heart.

Now we are in Pocatello, ID where David is a family medicine resident at Portneuf Medical Center and Sarah is a freelance journalist for the Idaho State Journal. I’m also trying my hand at being a home maker without blowing something up or poisoning someone.

Stay tuned. Life is one big adventure!
